Android VPN disconnecting
What's the issue about
VPN on the child device from the junior is being disconnected. This issue can affect the content filtering, pause internet and time limit on the child device as the VPN is used for blocking websites and other content on the child’s device. VPN is also used for the correct functioning of the screentime feature.
How to solve it
This issue might be caused by battery saving as described in TBS for Android System Battery Saving.
If battery-saving troubleshooting doesn’t help resolve the issue, it can also be caused by another VPN being connected.
To find out if there is a different VPN used on the device that is causing the Family Security child app to be disconnected, check if the VPN settings show only the Junior App in the list of VPNs:
Settings -> Network & Internet -> VPN
If there is another VPN app on the device then suggest uninstalling it and removing the profile.
Check if the “Always-on VPN” option is enabled in the settings of the device for the Wind Family Protect Junior app: Settings > Networks & Connections > VPN > Wind Junior Protect > enable “Always-on VPN”
Content blocking not working when the connection is shared with another device through tethering
What's the issue about
When the child tethers the connection to another device (tablet/laptop) then the content blocking will no longer work on the other device.
How to solve it
Sadly there is no solution for this issue. Due to security reasons, Android won’t allow sharing the VPN connection through tethering so all content will be available on a device that uses the connection from a device with filtered content.
